Stocksbridge Hopper Bus services – routes 34 and 35

Scheduled delivery: Completed - services are running. A Phase 1 Project.

Delivered in partnership with South Pennine Community Transport, the project includes the purchase of four busses and the launch of two bus services. 

The services are designed to link residential areas with key facilities, shops, and transport hubs, enhancing overall mobility within the community. Both services are lowfloor and demand responsive, allowing for diversions to pick up or drop off passengers as needed.

The services are:

• An extended 34 service from Fox Valley to Bolsterstone, restoring a vital link for residents of the village and improving connectivity between Stocksbridge and Barnsley via Deepcar, Pilley, Stainborough, Gilroyd, and Kingstone.
• The newly created 35 service, a daily circular route connecting various parts of Stocksbridge and Deepcar, including Fox Valley Shopping Centre.
