Originally envisaged as an external provider provision within the Stocksbridge Hub 519, the Board have started to look at options to deliver improvements sooner, and via more mixed delivery including partnership with existing agencies, charities and providers in the area.
The Board are working closely with FACE (Family Adult Community Education) who deliver in venues throughout Sheffield, focusing on the types of employability skills that are needed in Stocksbridge.
The first intervention is now in place. Working in partnership with the SCC Education and Skills Team and the STF Board, STEP, a Stocksbridge-based charity, have launched a new Pathways 2 Work programme aimed at helping local residents find meaningful employment.
Based at The Venue on Manchester Road, the initiative offers practical help, advice, and support for anyone currently out of work and seeking a job. Provision begun this year.
