The Towns Fund is a funding scheme launched by the previous Government in September 2019, to help towns across the UK improve their local economy.
Stocksbridge is one of 100 towns that were selected to bid for a share of the £3.6bn funding available and develop proposals for a Towns Deal. The Government asked to see proposals that will drive long-term economic growth through sustainable investment in connectivity, land use, economic assets and skills and enterprise infrastructure. The Towns Fund will play a major role in the future development and prosperity of Stocksbridge.
